It’s really difficult for me to review Continental Seafood Restaurant because I’ll be quite biased. The reason is because I have been here so many times every since I was in elementary school! My parents hold a lot of functions here so I’m so used to their food even though they’ve changed ownership a few times. I come here for banquets about 3 times a year and otherwise I don’t come here for dinner or dim sum really although I have before. It is a popular place for Chinese people but I wouldn’t really come here unless it was for a private party or banquet.
The food isn’t bad, but it’s not the best Chinese cuisine in town or anything. It’s decent and the price is decent and because it has a large capacity it’s usually pretty full. Also they have live music and a ballroom so it attracts all the middle aged Chinese ballroom dancers Richmond has to offer… which is a WHOLE LOT! I would know… I’ve had to follow my parents on numerous occasions growing up and we don’t live in the area. Therefore it’s kind of the default place to go since it’s the only Chinese restaurant in Richmond offering all that jazz – literally and figuratively.
On this occasion I attended Continental Seafood Restaurant because it was a Chinese New Years dinner. This is my 3rd formal banquet of this year. The food is always somewhat different and depending on the price of the menu you get served different stuff. It was actually quite an enjoyable dinner and I was generally pleased with everything served.
