**Recommendations: Top Cookie Pineapple cookies (Tat Nenas)
These ‘Top Cookie” pineapple cookies actually originate from the traditional Malaysian pineapple tarts called tat nenas. Tat nenas are popular during Chinese New Year and they are a Malaysian favourite and a great dessert. These pineapple cookies are perfect with tea or coffee too.
My Malaysian friend who lives in Malaysia bought me these delicious cookies as a going away gift. They were great!
On the table:
**”Top Cookie” Pineapple Cookie – n/a
- It was my 2nd time trying it and it was better than the one from Jenny Bakery in Hong Kong which was already very good!
- It’s a gift so I’m not rating it – but they are delicious! They’re quite addicting because they’re they’re bite size.
- It’s almost like a soft tart or cake cookie more than a cookie.
- The pastry or cookie part is a very soft crumb and it tastes like shortbread in cake form. It’s very buttery and crumbly like a soft buttery pie crust and it has a slightly flaky top.
- The middle is filled with pineapple jam. It’s pretty much freshly dried pineapple pureed into a sticky paste. It’s very soft and you can taste and see the fibres of the pineapple.
- They’re sweet, but not too sweet. It’s naturally sweet from the pineapple.
- They’re very chewy and the crumb is so tender and buttery it just melts in your mouth.
- I would definitely recommend it as a gift – it was hard for me to share.

hey there, they look delicious! can i know how much they sell per box?
yo, can i get it in penang or singapore??
@Al – I’m sorry, they were a gift I’m not sure.
@tricia – I’m actually not sure… I would think you can buy then in Penang. I’m sure they distribute within Malaysia.
Hi!
I would like to know where exactly i can buy it? Any shop or stall in Sunway Pyramid, Mid Valley, 1 Utama, Tropicana City Mall, etc?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you.
@Rachel – Welcome! I’m so sorry but I got mine as a gift when I was in Malaysia so I’m not sure where you can buy them. I’m from Vancouver, BC so I’m unfamiliar with the places you lists. I’m sure a hotel service would be able to source them for you though.
I have a photo of the label so maybe you can go to the factory? Or try calling the factory… the number is listed.
There is a stall at KLCC selling it. It is located at Concourse level, near the escalator leading up to the Ampang side of the mall. It is really delicious. The pastry is buttery and crumpry, and the pineapple is not too sweet with a tinge of soureness. the best I’ve ever tried.
@Sandra – thank you sooo much for posting the info!!!! I have no idea where to buy them and everyone was asking! Thank you!! Glad you liked them as well 🙂

Latest price update for a box of ‘Top Cookie’ pineapple tarts from the stall at LG of MidValley Mall, RM18! Still single layer and on the ‘pricey’ side; tried to haggle for a lower price but she wouldn’t budge, so bought 3 boxes! There used to another stall at this basement level that also sell equally tasty pineapple tarts from Malacca and cheaper, but unfortunately no more!! 😮 (
Latest price in KLCC is RM20.00.
The best pineapple tarts I have ever tasted and if not for its calorie laden, I could eat 10 pieces at a time. Since I found it, it’s the only one I would buy for Hari Raya. My daughters also love it.
hi, I have recently bought a box of Pineapple tart from a stall in Bangsar Village during Raya and the taste is heavenly good!!!
The Brand is ” Mozzcato ” . They are famous for their Pineapple Tart , the pastry is buttery and yummy! just the right texture goes well together with the pineapple filling!
I think they have a website selling cookies , check it out
