Follow Me Foodie Gets A 5 Star Food Blog Award
Presented by Tom House, owner and founder of DinnerReviews.com
I have to ask myself: How is it possible to win the lottery every day? Little things like almond croissants make me happy… but happy is an understatement for how I feel right now. I want to say I’m speechless, but we all know that’s not true. I just don’t know where to start and I’m really still in awe and disbelief.
First off I am completely honoured and humbled to receive a 5 Star Food Blog Award from DinnerReviews.com. Follow Me Foodie is the 4th recipient for this award. The announcement was made yesterday along with a full story and interview from owner, founder, successful entrepreneur, foodie and now friend, Mr. Tom House himself – see here.
He first discovered my blog January 22, 2011 and left me one of the most wonderful comments on my “About” page – see here. The article he wrote about Follow Me Foodie is written with the most powerful words, sincerity, belief and support. It makes me want to cry…
I am completely overwhelmed by the comments, tweets, youtube hits, “likes” on Facebook, texts, calls and e-mails I have received since the announcement. It is crazy how social media has changed my life. Actually Tom House has never seen anything like it either. See his follow up comment in regards to the Follow Me Foodie congrats here.
I started Follow Me Foodie July 31, 2009, purely from passion and expecting nothing to come from it. I’m not a professional chef, critic, or journalist by trade, as my blog is driven purely by love. I just wanted to share my love for food, the culinary industry and talent behind it. Little did I know what was in store for this little food blog. For those who don’t know, this is the very first entry for Follow Me Foodie – see here. That’s pretty much showing you the first page of my diary… a bit embarrassing, but all part of the growth.
Here is part of the Dinner Reviews article that I hope explains it all…
“Part of what drives me is my audience, and as long as they’re happy and I’m happy, I know I’m doing the right thing. I have the most devoted readers and I owe it to them to deliver bigger and better things. They’ve led to my growth and pretty much dictate my next steps. If bigger things happen from it then it was a team effort that got me there.” – Mijune continue reading here.
I share this award with every one of you. This was a collective effort. I don’t want to pride myself, but I pride the Follow Me Foodie readers, “followers”, commenters, supporters, friends, family and I guess “fans”. I never use that word (“fans”) because it blows me away to even think I would have one. I’m not kidding you when I say that I still get blown away when I meet anyone that has even heard of my blog. Here’s to us for receiving a 5 Star Blog Award. It’s yours as much as it is mine.
