I just launched the Olympic Cocktail webisode yesterday which featured drinks that were part of the Olympic “Relive It” campaign featured at YEW Restaurant + Bar at The Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, BC. So I decided to continue with the theme and relaunch the series, to I guess somewhat “relive” the moments as well. It was seriously a lot of fun and we hope to bring you more. In addition I’m also continuing the cocktail theme by hosting a contest inspired by the Cactus Juice Cocktail featured in Johnny Depp’s new moive Rango.

Cactus Juice Cocktail Recipe
1 pint chilled prickly pear juice (fresh or store-bought)
1 pint chilled cranberry juice
1 quart chilled ginger ale
Use tongs to collect juicy, ripe fruits of the prickly pear. An easy way to get the juice for jelly or punch is to place 1 quart of the unpeeled, cleaned fruits in a kettle with about a half-inch of water. Simmer until soft, then press out the juice with a potato masher. Strain the juice with a strainer to remove all spines.
Mix juices in 2-quart pitcher. Add ginger ale. Dip rim of glasses in mixture of lemon juice and water, then sifted powdered sugar. Pour cocktail over a couple of ice cubes in glass. Makes 2 quarts.
Serving size 1 cup.
