Thanks for watching the Follow Me Foodie webisodes! I really hope you’re enjoying them as much as we’re enjoying making them!

I just launched the Olympic Cocktail webisode yesterday which featured drinks that were part of the Olympic “Relive It” campaign featured at YEW Restaurant + Bar at The Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver, BC. So I decided to continue with the theme and relaunch the series, to I guess somewhat “relive” the moments as well. It was seriously a lot of fun and we hope to bring you more. In addition I’m also continuing the cocktail theme by hosting a contest inspired by the Cactus Juice Cocktail featured in Johnny Depp’s new moive Rango.

Cactus Juice Cocktail Recipe

1 pint chilled prickly pear juice (fresh or store-bought)
1 pint chilled cranberry juice
1 quart chilled ginger ale

Use tongs to collect juicy, ripe fruits of the prickly pear. An easy way to get the juice for jelly or punch is to place 1 quart of the unpeeled, cleaned fruits in a kettle with about a half-inch of water. Simmer until soft, then press out the juice with a potato masher. Strain the juice with a strainer to remove all spines.

Mix juices in 2-quart pitcher. Add ginger ale. Dip rim of glasses in mixture of lemon juice and water, then sifted powdered sugar. Pour cocktail over a couple of ice cubes in glass. Makes 2 quarts.

Serving size 1 cup.

    Favourite drink – caesars! πŸ™‚

  • Lia says:

    It’s me again. πŸ˜‰

My favourite drink would have to be the Ginger Margarita from Market. I love love ginger and the taste of this cocktail is spot on.

As usual, your posts are fabulous and I love that you just go anywhere and everywhere! I definitely hope that one day I’ll get the opportunity to eat out with you and attack a menu like you do. That’d be pretty awesome!

You look absolutely fabulous in your videos and it’s amazing how you’re so good at both food and fashion!

  • Cameron W. says:

Loving the site, but it’s harder now with the videos because I can’t watch those at work. So I see there’s a new post, but can’t actually watch it.

  • Miss Jane says:

    Mojito Mojito Mojito.

That’s all I drank last year when I was in Hawaii and Florida. Mojitos taste extra good and refreshing with a few slices of cucumber. I always ask and make sure the bartender uses real organic content instead of a premade syrup. It makes a world of difference!

    Already following your facebook page!

Those cocktails from YEW look delicious! I’ll have to try that Cactus Juice Cocktail recipe someday.

Just keep doing what you are doing for Follow Me Foodie! I love it as it is!

    Wow that’s like a meal in cocktails…yum.
I think the man-candy would be the one for me, just love me sweets too much!

  • Jo says:

My fav cocktail is PiΓ±a Colada.

  • Linda says:

i don’t know if this drink still exists because i used to order it when i was younger lol but i still really like the blue hawaii – it’s made with rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao, sweet and sour mix, and vodka – i ordered it initially because it was pretttttty but i love the tropical flavours of it and it definitely masks all the alcohol taste lol

mmmm you make the montreal and vancouver cocktails looks delish! especially the montreal one because i love love love creme brulee! the vancouver one with salmon looks good too – like a mini appy and drink all in one. i’m not really a fan of caesars so the alberta one was iffy for me πŸ™‚

i like how you downed the last bit of alcohol when the bartender (justin?) was making the caesar lol plus i really enjoy watching your enthusiasm and genuine reactions when you’re trying out new items – it really shows ppl how honest you are in your opinions about the food. plus i like how you did a voice over this time around in the vid – very entertaining to watch for sure!

  • Phy says:

My favorite cocktail is the Vera Cruz from Chambar. It’s their version of the Caesar.

I’d love to try the creme brulee cocktail!

  • Ryan Cardoz says:

    Hey hey!

Favourite cocktail?? Asian lemonade (hot water with lemon). Haha, just kidding. My favourite cocktail(s) would have to be…

Super Sonic Gin and Tonic (Joey’s)
Pimp Juice (3 parts Gin, 1 part Sour Raspberry, top up with club soda and lime juice)
    Bourbon Caesar (hogshack)

The pimp juice is a customized drink made up by a friend of mine, so you won’t find it anywhere.

As for feedback, I only have one piece. Make your blog easier to find on Google. For example, I searched for Yew+restaurant+review, and you weren’t there!! You’re the BEST food blogger in Vancouver…you should be on the top 10 search results! Other than that, keep doing what you’re doing.

I “liked” your facebook page a long time ago and bookmarked your youtube account. I see you follow GreenhornRET’s channel, very good ;).

Favourite cocktail would be Vanilla Stoli and coke haha its simple and tastes like vanilla coke!

Again love your site, videos are a nice addition and I know you probably don’t like to call them reviews but they are well thought out and fair I think.
    Keep up the good work!
