Follow Me Foodie and C Restaurant Present a Fathers’ Day BBQ & Beer Tasting

Last year on Father’s Day I hosted Vancouver’s 1st Cupcake Challenge. It wasn’t intentional to have the event land on Father’s Day, but nonetheless it turns out there is a male population that does appreciate dessert! Of course they probably would have preferred a bacon challenge, but hmm maybe next year!

This year I’m stepping up my game. I’m co-hosting a ‘real’ Father’s Day event! I’m turning in the cupcakes and swapping to BBQ… and beer! Am I getting closer? Did we get it right? More “dad-friendly” don’t you think?

Together with C Restaurant we’re presenting a Fathers’ Day salmon BBQ (always local, always sustainable) on the patio with a special beer tasting.

Sorry Mijune, we are boycotting C restaurant. We’ve tried it with the groupon lunch and ordered an additional lobster tallitali and greatly disappointed with the dish along with the boullibase, to add insult, I’ve sent an email to them and the manager Leanord who ask for phone number so he can perhaps get his say and defend the dishes, but he ended never call.

The lobster dish… Over cooked, it was extremely tough and I end up spitting it out because I got tired of chewing. Granted, they did bring out another lobster salad to make it up but then, again it was the same tough lobster. We dint understand, that really ruins the whole experience. The boullibase, well the halibut was indeed cooked to perfection, unfortunately, was really underseasoned even with the help of the broth, it didn’t succeed in bringing the dish together. It is very unfortunate because I’ve tried C restaurant many years ago and I’ve had great memories if it. I think food really changes a persons mood and it makes people happy with good food. We also have high expectation from them since they are consider a high end restaurant and I would believe they have the same level of expectation from themselves.

My Dad is the best cook in the world! He inspires us to respect and love food. More importantly, he shows us how to share the gourmet experience with others. Happy Father’s Day, Dad! ♥

My dad is no longer with us sadly but his life revolved around food. We bought our meat from a certain butcher, our fish from the local fish market, our bread from a famous bakery and our perogies from a church basement … OK, you get the drift. Food was serious business in our house.

I too have an appreciate for great eats, however with two young kids, fine dining isn’t typically an option.

I would like to enter my husband, who is a dad and make note that he is originally from Australia where they know a thing or two about BBQ’s and Beer.

    Thank you for the opportunity.
