October 2011

Generally I did enjoy the things I tried, but my expectations were set higher. My biggest bias is that I had it on the same pedestal as Thomas Haas before even trying it. I did find it hit or miss, but the lemon tart was a highlight and worth going back for.

It’s not often I visit a restaurant twice in one day. This is the second time I did it. I was really pleased with their $10 brunch menu and I came back for dinner to try their famous burger which is quickly becoming one of the city’s favourite burgers!

Ladurée is the Mecca of Parisian Macarons along with Pierre Hermé. They’re not the inventors of them, but they did take these dainty cookies to the next level by making them gourmet. Since I’m not heading to France anytime soon, I had to try them in New York.

It was a visit to Prospect Plantation in Ocho Rios, Jamaica! It was a comedic tour of the plantation in a jitney and we were shown the crops and fruits of Jamaica. From eating fresh coconuts picked from the tree, to camel riding and more!

Jamaica is famous for coffee, and this is undoubtedly one of the most highly prized and popular high end coffees there. It’s actually considered as one of the most expensive coffees in the world and I got to visit their coffee bean plants at Blue Mountains!
