Taste of Talent Benefit Dinner 2012

**Update! – Taste of Talent Benefit Dinner Recap

Canada’s best culinary talent under one roof, in one kitchen, on one evening. This will be an epic experience.

Some girls can stay up watching chick flicks or romantic movies and cry themselves to sleep… I can do it by watching videos like this… or browsing photos of avant garde cuisine.

This is not the Next or el Bulli opening, but if you want that experience and food of that caliber, then this is your opportunity. Try to prevent yourself from crying in the food… besides your tears will over salt it.

Canada’s Culinary Teams are coming together to prepare a benefit dinner to raise funds so they can represent our province and country in the upcoming national and international culinary competitions. These competitions are the Culinary Olympics and these chefs have been training 2-4 years for them.

Together with Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Head Chef, Ken Nakano, taste course after course prepared by the following culinary teams.

Canada’s National Culinary Team
Canada’s Junior National Culinary Team
Culinary Team British Columbia
Canada’s Bocuse d’Or Competitor
WACS Global Chef Challenge Competitor

Wow! Looking at the presentation of these dishes makes me really realize what artists these chefs are. Do you ever watch dinner party wars? I used to think my dinner parties were pretty good, until I saw how much care some of those contestants took in presentation. Now I am super aware of how poor my presentation is when I serve food. Maybe, I shouldn’t watch those shows as they take the fun out of hosting…….
BTW….. Congratulations on being featured in today’s Arts and Life in the Vancouver Sun!

  • Linda says:

ditto what Jayda said about being in Arts and Life on Saturday! I was at the Mirror Mirror premiere and one of our mutual friends, Veronica, showed me the article while we were waiting in line 🙂 congrats!! ^________^

i really wish i could afford to go to this, the team looks amazing and from that one plate alone, it looks like the event will be pretty spectacular!

  • Mijune says:

@Jayda Home – Thank you!!!! You are so sweet!! Oh and I know exactly what you mean!!!! I was pretty okay with my plating until I saw some other “home cooks”… and then it’s like ummm don’t bring mine out please. Are you coming to this dinner!?!

@Linda – You’re so sweet too!! Thank you! xo and yes, the food will be unquestionably amazing. 🙂
