The itinerary read “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” eer I mean Brennan’s! Apparently dining in New Orleans is not complete without a visit to the world famous Brennan’s Restaurant. It’s where I had my taste of Turtle Soup and it’s the place where the Bananas Foster was invented. Recipe included!

Whether you’re a “foodie” or not you’ve most likely heard of the world famous French doughnut called the beignet and Cafe du Monde is world renowned for them. It is beloved by locals and tourists alike and I would consider it a New Orleans attraction and a FMF must try!

Oh good lord, or I mean lard, this is a place that does the pig right. It was listed as “one of the top 3 restaurants that count” by the New York Times and Chef Donald Link was recently nominated as Outstanding Chef of the Year in the US at the 2012 James Beard Foundation Awards.

First off it’s pronounced New Orlenz or Nawlins, but not New Orleens, and my friendly reciprocation back is that it’s pronounced sæmen, not salmon. True story. This was an intense eating and drinking city, so grab some grits and prepare your gut and Follow Me Foodie to New Orleans! This is a good one!

Upon being seated I was actually given a dining option, I could either order from the a la carte menu or have the chef put together a tasting menu. What!? Really!? You do Tasting Menus!? Yes please! It really shows me what and how he cooks, his personality, palate and style.

What? Did you think I was going to end the series without leaving you a recipe for her dessert? It’s Anna Olsen! I’d consider that extra taboo and I couldn’t do that to you. Here is her recipe for Earl Grey Chiffon Cake & I’m also hosting a giveaway for Anna Olsen’s Back to Baking Cook Book!

They Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour is a walking food tour which takes place in downtown Vancouver, BC. It includes 5 food stops with tastings and a few drink pairings. As a local and “foodie” in Vancouver, BC I was curious where this Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour would take us.

The wine, cocktails and food menu were not dull or pretentious and I was pleased. It’s not a “hot and happening” kind of place, but it is an enjoy a glass of wine and each other’s company while watching the sunset kind of place.
