It is located right in the heart of Whistler Village and it’s one of the top 3 most popular award winning fine dining restaurants there. With clientele from all over the world it plays on the safer and expected side of fine dining, but it’s consistent with the Top Table Restaurant Group name.

Breathe in. Breathe in the air!!! I was told to breathe in and I did! Ah! Whistler. A week ago I would not have done that. To be honest, even though I live in Vancouver, I’ve only been to Whistler a few times. People ask me “are you a mountain girl or an ocean girl?” And I say “neither, I’m a restaurant girl.”

I’ve tried Q4 at its old location before, but not since it moved to its new location. The classics are still available, but looking at the menu and based on my lunch, the food lacked a bit of passion. The paninis for lunch were pretty good and the brunch is new and that looked promising.

Did you know that blueberries are the #1 fruit exported in Canada? It’s blueberry season and Wild Rice is supporting local farmers by incorporating blueberries into their new menu. I’ve also included a recipe for Blueberry Risotto Fritters with Blueberry Ginger Sauce.

Pistachio would definitely be in my top 3 favourite flavours for desserts. This recipe is actually egg-free and instead of egg yolks it uses cornstarch. Don’t let that scare you. It’s not a short cut. Authentic gelato in Southern Italy, Sicily to be specific, uses cornstarch as the stabilizer whereas Rome would use egg yolks.

Off the Wagon food truck makes West Coast style tacos for breakfast and lunch. They use local and sustainable ingredients and ethically raised meats while offering a healthier take on tacos. I’m a carnivore, although I still like vegetarian food, and I actually liked the vegetarian taco better.

I like. No, I love! This is one to watch out for. It’s a rather new food truck and I have high hopes for them if they can stay consistent. The have the passion, quality ingredients, right price, good value, friendly attitude and great philosophy. This is Western North Carolina style BBQ!
