Follow Me Foodie to 6 Course Discourse!

I’ve only done two events since starting Follow Me Foodie in July 2009 and this will be my third one! It’s been a long time, but I’m thrilled to announce my first event of 2014!!! I’m so excited I want to add a million exclamation marks to the end of every sentence! I guess I can too… the benefits of being your own editor! Yay!!!!!!

I am very proud to introduce the first-ever 6 Course Discourse presented by me & Dine Out Vancouver! It will be one of their featured events during the annual Dine Out Vancouver Festival.

6 Course Discourse is a culinary presentation featuring 6 chefs who will speak for 12 minutes each. Learn about their culinary philosophies, experiences, frustrations, passions and more at this one-off event!

I am very honoured to present 6 chefs who are some of the most celebrated in Vancouver. Please join me in welcoming Hamid Salimian, John Bishop, Vikram Vij, Scott Jaeger, Tina Fineza, and Julian Bond. Unfortunately Owen Lightly is unable to speak due to his battle with cancer. We wish him all the support to fight it. 

Prior to the culinary talks, we will start with a wine and canapé standing reception featuring fine food from Vij’s, Bishop’s, Service Excellence, Next Jenn, The Pear Tree, PICA ChefMaenam, Miku, Chez Christophe, Soirette Macarons & Tea, Cedarlane CulinaryLa Grotta del Formaggio, and Ebo Restaurant at the Delta Burnaby Hotel & Conference Centre.

BC VQA wine samples will be provided by JoieFarm, Le Vieux PinTyler Harlton Wines, Haywire Winery, Wild Goose VineyardsVolcanic Hills Estate Winery and Vista d’Oro.

Then, take your theatre seat for an inspired speaker presentation followed by a question period and aftermath social. This event is open to public, industry, chefs, cooks, and all food and wine enthusiasts.

*Includes standing food and wine reception and speaker series. Taxes and ticketing fees are not included. Free parking available. Please arrive early to allow for ticket collection. Latecomers will not be seated. No minors, venue is 19+. No refunds.

Having been in the culinary field for more than 40 years, it is always encouraging to attend new and exciting culinary events that are always performed by chefs that present different types of cooking techniques, and presentations. The BC Chefs’ Association will be attending the function to experience the type of cuisine presented on January 20th at the Edgwater Casino. See you there.
