Mourad’s personality came out in the Tasting Menu. His creativity is best expressed in his Tasting Menu and I wasn’t expecting it to get as intense as it did. He is a real chef who is passionate about cooking and the menu was progressive, artistic, and innovative to Moroccan cuisine.

Che Baba Cantina

Che Baba Cantina is one of the newer kids on the block and it opened late last year. It actually doubles as a restaurant with a small yoga studio located next door. The concept is charming and very Vancouver, yet refreshing to the area and especially this part of Vancouver.

Poor Italian Ristorante – Seafood Festival

It’s the 1st Annual Taste of Italy Seafood Festival is on now until the end of September and it features a reasonably priced seafood menu with optional wine pairings. The restaurant is Italian, but the food is accommodating to West Coast palates.

Chicago, Illinois – The Purple Pig

It’s opened by rock star chefs and I want to recommend everything! Chicago was off to a fantastic start and The Purple Pig hit a home run! The food was solid, the portions were more than fair and the prices were very reasonably for the ambiance, location and overall quality of food.

The ingredients were simple, the pasta sauce light, and in true Italian spirit we were served a good 12 courses paired with wine.
