The Toronto Tasting menu offered 8 very different small plates and each plate represented a neighbourhood of Toronto. When it came time for desserts, I was presented an heirloom carrot cake, chocolate brownie with blood orange, maple pecan bar, and foie gras ice cream sandwich!

The menu and ambiance is very old fashioned and random to the point of almost frustrating, but if I just tried their Burmese dishes I would be writing about how I found a hidden gem in Kitsilano (with a million exclamation marks after it). Welcome to Burmese food… kind of.

Христос Воскрес! It’s a Sunday Night Ukrainian Easter Dinner Series! Chocolate eggs one week and paska (Ukrainian Easter Bread) the next? I’ll be bringing my basket! This is more or less a traditional Ukrainian dinner prepared by the Pazukha’s… how’s that for a last name? Recipes too!

So how did I discover this VERY hidden gem for home made perogies? It all started with Twitter and the words “Pulled Pork Perogies”. I’m a huge fan of pulled pork and I also really like perogies, but having the two combined was something unheard of. Needless to say I was curious and exited to try this modern day pierogi.

My Friday night ended with me tweeting: So full of sausages and it hurts… thanks to Falconetti’s I was stuffed from 6 sausages and a couple stains to help me remember the night. Think foodie mind, not dirty mind!
