Cuban

The area consists of long time businesses and the market is full of iconic institutions selling meats, cheese, seafood, spices and produce. It would be a shame to visit Toronto and miss out on this since the city prides itself on diversity. Here is my self guided foodie tour of Kensington Market.

I’m a huge fan of exploring street food in every new place I visit. It tells me a lot about their food culture. To really get a taste of what a city has to offer, you have to go across the board and experience high and “low” end dining and everything in between. Follow Me Foodie to New York Street Food!

I really wished I did some previous research because I thought the thing to order was the famous Cuban sandwich. That was only half the equation though and it turns out I missed the “Best Corn on the Cob” in the city. @$#%. Seriously?!

The owners, chefs and cooks are all Cuban, or of Latin decent, and they claim the food is authentic, but I couldn’t help but to think it was catered to American tastes, although still very good. The ingredients used are all fresh, local and sustainable.
