Pub food

Follow Me Foodie to Jamaica! It was a visit to Belcour Preserves in Blue Mountains, Jamaica and this is Robin’s Scotch Egg recipe featuring her Honey Mustard Pepper Sauce and Honey Jerk Hot Sauce made in her backyard.

The food isn’t fancy or creative, so it might not be as exciting or interesting, but it is simple and authentic. The menu makes it one of the more traditional izakayas I’ve been to so far with reasonable prices and portions.

I would say it’s one of the Main Street classics with a dark hipster vibe and eclectic menu that’s supposed to feature local and seasonal ingredients. Everything was still home made with pretty decent quality ingredients.

The food is modern comfort food with an approachable twist and it has a playful and creative menu. I get what they’re trying to do, but I’m more infatuated with its unique location than the actual food, but the food was good for the price.

Sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and food carts dominated the Vancouver food scene last year and this. The following sandwiches and burgers are limited to the ones I tried this year and they’re definitely worth trying!

Opened by Top Chef Canada’s winner Dale MacKay, Ensemble Tap is a gastropub serving gourmet pub food with some global influences. The food was generally very good and the prices and portions were fair which is all I ask for at a place like this.

Honestly, I don’t know if I’d come here for anything else but the chicken wings. Every single table was just plates of non-stop chicken wings. These are magical chicken wings… they’ll make you fly higher than Red Bull. It’s a must try!

The Fat Radish is one of the hot new restaurants in New York. It’s an English inspired gastropub and this seems to be one of the trends right now. It’s basically a bar meets a restaurant with gourmet food, wine and beer and I came for their brunch.
