Steakhouse

So you thought how much seafood I could eat in 48 hours was good? Wait until you see how much meat I can eat in 3… uhh that sounded a lot better in my head. Okay, stop it. Anyway it was the 1st Annual Festival of Meat – Brewery & The Beast in Vancouver, BC and it was freaking fantastic!

The atmosphere and ambiance was a bit old fashioned, but the set menu gave me an idea of their banquet menu or private dining capabilities. The steak tartare was the most interesting part of dinner due to the story behind it. So what’s my beef with Steak Tartare? Well, it might not be French!

The quality and execution of steaks were taken seriously, but the way they were meant to be enjoyed (with a bunch of sauces and rubs) suggested playful. I found the appetizers hit and miss, but the sides were solid and the steak is really the thing it needed to nail – and it did.

The event featured over 80 wines, 6 cocktails and food from 14 Vancouver restaurants. We were all there for one reason which was to support BC’s hospitality industry and talent. So Follow Me Foodie to a recap of Dish ‘N Dazzle at The Fairmont Waterfront!

It does have that “chain-like” atmosphere, but it was comfortable and no different than say your Moxie’s or Earls. The menu was more like The Keg and it’s casual dining and a modern take on a steakhouse.
