Girl Guides of Canada Iron Chef Halloween Competition

Girl Guides ages 8-12 gathered from all over Metro Vancouver to compete for the Iron Chef team title. Each group of 4-6 was asked to create a 3 course meal using a selection of 13 secret ingredients. Here are their creations!

Baked Beet and Apple Chips with Chocolate Recipe

Beet chips and apple chips sounded pretty “yawn” to me so I wanted to do something a bit different, but still simple. I’ve made a chocolate lava cake with a beet coulis centre before so why not beet chips with chocolate? Also use the code ‘slice and dice’ for a discount on the mandoline at Call the Kettle Black!

From my “Something Blue” Menu. The blueberry BBQ sauce was inspired by the Blueberry BBQ sauce used for the beef brisket sandwich I had from Blue Smoke BBQ.
