It’s a great weekend getaway and you don’t have to worry about getting taxed on the boxes of wine you’ll want to bring back. I recently explored the area a bit more as a guest of Tourism Kelowna on behalf of Food Bloggers of Canada, and here are a few things I recommend from my last visit.

Canadian Culinary Championships – Gold Medal Plates 2014 Winners!

Saturday, February 8 was the 2014 Canadian Culinary Championships Gold Medal Plates grand finale at The Delta Grand Okanagan in Kelowna, BC. Congratulations to the winners and all the competing chefs who busted their bums off for the 2 day competition.

Sun Peaks, BC – Black Garlic Bistro

This is black garlic. It’s traditionally an ancient Korean ingredient used for medicinal reasons and it’s full of antioxidants and very healthy. They are very potent, pungent, earthy and sweet and they taste almost like a cross of caramelized garlic, porcini mushrooms and molasses.

Sun Peaks & Kamloops, BC – Visiting Farms & Farmers in Kamloops!
