It turns out that they did a little research and “Follow Me Foodie” or “Mijune” was destined for Lady Kookie Biscuiterie. They weren’t your traditional old fashioned cookies, which I like as well, but these were elegant cookies with a lighter flare and made for a more sophisticated palate.

Who has Montreal’s Best Smoked Meat? Deli Lesters VS Schwartz’s Montreal Hebrew Delicatessen. I ended up getting Montreal Smoked Meat from Lesters and Schwartz’s just so I could do a back to back comparison and the results are in!

It was the final competition and grand finale of the Gold Medal Plates 2012 in Kelowna. 9 of Canada’s top chefs came to compete for the title of “Canada’s Best Chef” and Chef Marc Lepine from Ottawa earned the title and took home “The Gold Medal Plates” Award.

The second challenge for Canada’s top chefs was The Black Box portion of the competition. Well in this case it was a white box, but let’s not be racist. It was an Iron Chef like competition, Chefs had to use 6 mystery ingredients to make 2 dishes in 1 hour.

9 Canadian chefs gathered in Kelowna to compete in the 2012 Gold Meal Plates. After 3 culinary competitions in 2 days, 1 winner took home the title of “Top Chef in Canada”. The first competition was a mystery wine pairing and here are the results!
In celebration of February being Apple Month, BC Tree Fruits and I have teamed up for an Apple Pie In-A-Jar sampling at the Salty Tongue Cafe! So what’s an Apple Pie In-A-Jar? Well it’s basically a take on my Canadian Pie In-A-Jar that was on Food Network Canada’s Recipe to Riches!
