My Follow Me Foodie Favourites & Best of 2012! I prefer calling it my “favourites” or most “memorable” experiences, but I’ll include “the best” just because I’m weak and want to align with every other “best of 2012″ list out there. This is a recap of my delicious 2012.

The ambiance, food, and service wasn’t particularly out of this world, but it was the overall feel, quality and freshness of food that made it a memorable experience. It was a well thought out and manageable menu with no short cuts, and there were modern twists to keep things interesting and current.

My hands were bloody greasy after this meal… well no blood, just grease. I was prepared though. When “Joe Beef” is featured on the menu I’m expecting to get my protein intake for the month and enough calories for a family of four. It was exactly as I imagined it and more.
And this was the famous sign and the “rules” at Wilensky’s. You take the sandwich as is, you don’t ask for it to be cut in two, and you don’t tip. Wilensky’s has been open for 80 years and going and it’s still the same family and staff running the show. I ordered their famous “Wilensky’s Special”.

So based on my dining style, Tourism Montreal set me up with this! Welcome to chef-owner Laurent Godbout’s restaurant Chez L’Épicier. He’s Montreal’s homegrown celebrity chef and his restaurant hosted the “Dinner with a Blogger” contest. This was his beautiful 9 course Chef’s Tasting Menu.
Follow Me Foodie to Montreal Round 2 was for the first annual Taste Montreal Restaurant Week. It was short, but sweet and it was a literal and figurative “Taste of Montreal”. The best part was meeting contest winner Courtney from Vancouver, Washington who won the “Dinner with a Blogger” contest!
Alright guys! Here’s our chance to go to Montreal! I’ve been chosen as one of the 5 bloggers across North America for this contest, but I can’t go to Taste Montreal (November 1-11) without your votes! Come eat with me!!

It turns out that they did a little research and “Follow Me Foodie” or “Mijune” was destined for Lady Kookie Biscuiterie. They weren’t your traditional old fashioned cookies, which I like as well, but these were elegant cookies with a lighter flare and made for a more sophisticated palate.
