Montreal, Quebec – Point G Parisian Macarons

It looked more like an American frozen yogurt shop than it did a macaron boutique, but Point G does specialize in Parisian Macarons. It was recommended by Montreal locals as the “best macrons in the city” and I was satisfied!

Montreal, Quebec – L’Orignal

I’ve never felt so “non-Canadian” until I visited Quebec. L’Orignal means “moose”, and the restaurant takes on a French-Canadian theme featuring game and seafood. It’s a local hot spot with a hidden location so it’s not as obvious as a choice.

It’s home made French-Canadian cuisine and the food won’t blow you away, but it may surprise you. It’s honest, simple, and well executed. From what I tried it wasn’t anything I’d rave about, but also nothing I’d complain about.

Van Horne is a hidden gem in Montreal, Quebec. It was one of the three restaurants in Quebec to be voted as “Best Top 10 New Restaurants in Canada”. It’s intimate space, sophisticated atmosphere and eclectic menu is a must try!

Montreal, Quebec – Taverne Gaspar

I wouldn’t put Taverne Gaspar as a priority on my foodie list for Montreal, but I’m also not getting British-Quebecois pub food in Vancouver, so I still think it made for a good foodie experience. The “Popcorn” Sweetbreads is worth going back for though!
