There are many excellent restaurants that go unnoticed or fly under the radar. Here are a few of my favourite mom-and-pop restaurants that have been around for years. They are rarely talked about and rely on word of mouth, but are key contributors to Vancouver’s diverse food scene.

It is Tourism Vancouver’s 11th Annual Dine Out Vancouver from January 18 – February 3, 2013. This is Canada’s largest restaurant festival featuring 200+ restaurants offering a set menu for $18, $28 or $38. Adding to the festival are culinary-focused events, tours and activities. It is best to use this post as a rough guideline and part introduction to Persian cuisine. It is simply my experience getting to know it better. At the same time I don’t want to take away from how good Zeitoon is and much of the Persian community calls it “a good standard for traditional Persian food”.
