It is Tourism Vancouver’s 11th Annual Dine Out Vancouver from January 18 – February 3, 2013. This is Canada’s largest restaurant festival featuring 200+ restaurants offering a set menu for $18, $28 or $38. Adding to the festival are culinary-focused events, tours and activities. Here is a sneak peek!
Jiro Dreams of Sushi… and so does Mijune (which is me by the way – hi!). It’s apparently one of the places to go for sushi in West Vancouver, so I decided to give it a try. It serves traditional sushi and modern Japanese izakaya, but It didn’t deliver to expectations and I found it quite overpriced.

Behind me was the skyline of my beautiful city and on my plate was the rest of the world. It was a refined style and exploration of unique ingredients executed with very subtle and delicate flavours. The flavours were simple, but very finely tuned. It was the work of a passionate chef.

I’ve been holding it in until I was ready, but I think it’s time. I am very honoured and delighted to announce that I have been invited to join the BC Chefs’ Association (BCCA). I am officially on the Board of Directors and have taken the role and responsibility of social media. Details here!

Sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and food carts dominated the Vancouver food scene last year and this. The following sandwiches and burgers are limited to the ones I tried this year and they’re definitely worth trying!

Oh so this is what Britney Spears was referring to when she sang the lyrics “Gimme gimme more, gimme more, gimme gimme more”! Oh god, more mama! Please! The savoury food is as amazing as their pies deemed “best in Vancouver”! A must try!
It triples as a Persian restaurant, supermarket and bakery, so you can have lunch, do some grocery shopping and treat yourself to a nice dessert as you leave! Yaas Bazaar wasn’t the best Persian food I’ve had, but for the price and portions, it’s a solid choice.
