I decided to visit Top Shanghai Cuisine which is more or less known as one of “The Best Shanghai Restaurants” in town next to Shanghai River. Although I enjoyed my dining experience, I did find the items hit and miss, and ordering was a bit of a gamble.

They actually have another location in Vancouver and they’re quite famous for having the “best wonton mein”. Upon entering the type of kitchen and layout is traditional and expected of a wonton noodle and congee house.
It’s Alaskan King Crab season and this is one of the best ways to experience head to tail dining for seafood. It’s a meal that requires 6-10 people and almost all higher end Chinese restaurants is offering it from now to April.
The food was decent, although not my usual dim sum spot. The place is a local favourite and sister to Empire Chinese Restaurant. There was nothing to complain about and nothing really to rave about, although it’s better than average for sure.
This is a dream job for food lovers and especially food bloggers! Get paid $50,000 to eat at 365 restaurants for 1 year with apartment and living compensation and a daily stipend for all restaurant meals!
If you’re one of those people who get really excited about being the only non-Chinese person at a Chinese restaurant, then get ready to pee in your pants. Sing Yee Chinese Restaurant is another good find and local favourite for the Cantonese-Chinese community.
They look kind of ugly and some of them contain alcohol while others show some meat. It’s like a mixed crowd at a nightclub, but whatever you choose, it won’t require your buddies approval because they’re all pretty delicious! And ladies, or gentlemen, the hard part is getting HIM to share.
