The Pastry Chef Dominic Fortin was blowing the dessert courses out of the water. Both Chef Craig and Chef Fortin seem to like showcasing the same ingredient in various ways, forms and textures and their style was consistent which was great. These could be some of my favourite desserts to date.

The food was intricate and delicate and they were interesting without being too gimmicky or foreign. I appreciated Chef’s elegant style and originality and the ingredients were forward in thought. Each plate had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what she could possibly do next.

The mutiple award winning fine dining restaurant isn’t so much of a hidden gem, but there was something beyond the novelties. For me, the real show was in the kitchen. “Let the food speak for itself” seems a bit cliché, but in this case the food also speaks for the quiet and confident Chef Melissa Craig.

The quality and execution of steaks were taken seriously, but the way they were meant to be enjoyed (with a bunch of sauces and rubs) suggested playful. I found the appetizers hit and miss, but the sides were solid and the steak is really the thing it needed to nail – and it did.
