New Orleans, Louisiana – La Petite Grocery Restaurant & Bar

It was Southern inspired French bistro food with New Orleans charm. It wasn’t really that I haven’t come across variations of these dishes before, but it was the execution and attention to fine details that really made La Petite Grocery a memorable experience and one that I couldn’t wait to share.

New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (NOWFE 2012 Recap)

I don’t even know where to start with this one. The Royal Street Stroll at the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience (NOWFE) was almost like the Mardi Gras for foodies. There was way too much food and booze to count, but I do have a million photos to help me remember every moment.

New Orleans, Louisiana – Central Grocery (Muffuletta)

Follow Me Foodie to New Orleans would not be complete without trying the famous Muffuletta sandwich from Central Grocery. This is the “Home of the Original Muffuletta” which is New Orleans’ signature sandwich. I’m not sure if it lived up to the hype, but it was very good and affordable.

New Orleans, Louisiana – Brennan’s Restaurant (Breakfast/Brunch)

The itinerary read “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” eer I mean Brennan’s! Apparently dining in New Orleans is not complete without a visit to the world famous Brennan’s Restaurant. It’s where I had my taste of Turtle Soup and it’s the place where the Bananas Foster was invented. Recipe included!

Whether you’re a “foodie” or not you’ve most likely heard of the world famous French doughnut called the beignet and Cafe du Monde is world renowned for them. It is beloved by locals and tourists alike and I would consider it a New Orleans attraction and a FMF must try!

Oh good lord, or I mean lard, this is a place that does the pig right. It was listed as “one of the top 3 restaurants that count” by the New York Times and Chef Donald Link was recently nominated as Outstanding Chef of the Year in the US at the 2012 James Beard Foundation Awards.
